I've been trying to write a blog post for y'all about Joy Eating for weeks. It's one of the most integral weight coaching topics. Invariably, I veer off in a different direction every time I go to work on it. There's just too much to share. A blog post simply won't do. SO, I recorded a call and set up a web page devoted to the topic. And it's all yours - for FREE. No strings. Why? I want as many women as possible to find peace with food and their bodies. It's my mission. My passion. Over the weekend, I started reading Chris Guillebeau's new book, The Happiness of Pursuit. His book isn't about weight loss, but he wrote something that made me go hmm. "Losing weight or getting out of debt are worthy pursuits, but they shouldn't be a … [Read more...] about The Art of Joy Eating
Please, Don’t Ever Give Up on Yourself
"The secret of life...is to fall seven times and to get up eight times." -Paulo Coelho What's going on in your mind can either make or break you. I can't stress that enough. I know I'm going to fail - again. This … [Read more...] about Please, Don’t Ever Give Up on Yourself
Practicing Acceptance
It would be nice if everything went according to plan, right? If everyone liked us If our relationships were conflict free If we always got it right on the first try If our friends and family and coworkers and kids would just do what we want them to do No mistakes. No problems. No icky feelings. Except life doesn't roll like that. I've been practicing some new thoughts lately. Thoughts that inspire a feeling of acceptance. And they've been rocking my world. Ready? There is room in this life for mistakes. There is room in this day for unpleasant feelings. I'm mint chocolate chip - there are going to be people who don't like my flavor - and that's okay. I can screw up from time to time and still live an amazing life. We can … [Read more...] about Practicing Acceptance
What’s Your Story?
Have you ever taken the time to listen - like really listen to the story you've been telling yourself? If the answer is no - you're not alone. We all have a story - - - a collection of thoughts we believe to be true about ourselves. Some common stories I hear from my clients are... I'll always be fat I'm not worthy My body is disgusting My life sucks There's something wrong with me Most of us are totally unaware of our story - it just plays in the background - which is unfortunate, because our story is incredibly powerful. Our story drives the results we get in life. I see you. You're rolling your eyes and thinking this is a bunch of woo - I get it. I felt the same way once. Until my body and my life began to transform. So stay … [Read more...] about What’s Your Story?
