5 Simple Non-Food Soul Soothers

The sunrises here in Colorado have been spectacular lately… Spending time admiring the natural beauty around me is my favorite way to soothe my soul. They create good feelings + soothe the soul without all the extra calories. Here are 5 simple ways to soothe your soul (without food)… 1. Read Fiction. I joined a book club in January of this year because I knew I was reading too much serious stuff (self-help, psychology, business books, oh my). Now I still love me some Brene Brown, but instead of curling up with latest and greatest edition of… improve yourself uplevel your life become your best … [Read more...] about 5 Simple Non-Food Soul Soothers

Top Non-Diet Weight Loss Strategies – Simple + Fun Food Journaling

Guess what? You don't have to keep a detailed journal full of calories counts and a 1/2 cup of this and 7 grams of that to get results. YOU get to choose the way you journal. Top Non-Diet Weight Loss Strategies – Make it Pretty

We all know we can banish carbs, obsessively count calories or spend hours on the treadmill and lose weight – but that’s absolutely, positively, unequivocally NO FUN. It also happens to be a shortsighted approach to weight loss. Do you really want to count every bleeping calorie or say goodbye bread for the rest of your life? Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing my favorite non-diet weight loss strategies for long-term success. Because that’s the goal, right? Lose the weight and keep it off – for GOOD. Strategy #1 - Make Your Food Look Pretty I’ve got a confession to make. Up until a few short months ago, I ate most of my meals straight out of big glass bowls, take away boxes from Whole Foods or Tupperware containers. And now … [Read more...] about Top Non-Diet Weight Loss Strategies – Make it Pretty

How Often Should I Weigh Myself?

How often should you weight yourself? If you asked me this question a few years ago, I might have said once a week or quite possibly - toss that evil scale in the trash. But I’ve changed my tune when it comes weighing in. My current recommendation is to weigh yourself daily at the same time of day. I can hear the moans and groans. Stay with me. Here’s why… Daily fluctuations in body weight (plus extra monthly fluctuations for women) are normal. It’s just that it’s NORMAL to have daily weight fluctuations. Now let’s say you weigh in once a week - on … [Read more...] about How Often Should I Weigh Myself?
