There is Always Light

Our daily lives have been filled with fear and uncertainty for some time now.

But there has also been light.

For there is always light,
if only we’re brave enough to see it
If only we’re brave enough to be it

I think it’s fair to say we can all use a healthy dose of hope and healing. If you didn’t get a chance to watch 22-year old Amanda Gorman deliver her poem, “The Hill We Climb,” on Inauguration Day, google her this very instant (or click here).

Amanda Gorman was the youngest poet to recite her work at a presidential inauguration. Gorman was diagnosed with an auditory processing disorder in kindergarten. She also has speech articulation issues that make it difficult for her to pronounce certain words and sounds. Because of her communication issues, she was entranced by the power of poetry to express ideas. And I (like many) was entranced by her.

That even as we grieved, we grew
That even as we hurt, we hoped
That even as we tired, we tried

When you’re “in” the thick of difficulty, it can be easy to forget that it is also a sacred time. A time that can yield new perspectives. A time that can make you stronger. Wiser. More compassionate. If you let it.

The darkness of difficult times can consume us if we forget to look for the light.

When day comes we ask ourselves,
where can we find light in this never-ending shade?

I have been called to rise up and find the light in, what Ms. Gorman calls, “this never-ending shade”.

My sweet mama was recently diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. I will be traveling to New Jersey to support her as much as is possible (and safe) in the coming months. And what a gift it is to be able to support her while continuing to do work that brings me so much joy.

Given the circumstances, I’ve decided to hit the pause button on accepting new clients for the time being.

If you would like to join the waitlist, click here + fill out the Discovery Questionnaire. At this time, I’m not certain when I’ll be adding new clients (hoping for April/May), but I promise to keep those on the waitlist up to date.
